I'm going to be growing out 2 flowerhorns in a 75. It obviously won't be their permanent home and I will have another tank when the time comes. They're small now, Just over 2" and both male. I will be obviously using a divider but was wondering which route to take. I know how to make a sturdy divider out of some egg crate. Will that be ok? Is it ok if they're able to see each other or should I use something else?

I don’t see much of an issue with this, as I have used egg crates in the past. The only difference is that I used it for a male and female. My only concern with housing 2 males is that when they go at each other, they may (or I should say will) scrape their Kok. I’ve had a male scrape his kok on a piece of driftwood and it’s not a cool scene. After that I’ve stuck to 1 male FH per tank. Although, I have toyed with the idea of using a divider as you can see from some of my past posts. Hope this helps

That's not a good idea. Knowing that there's another male near it's territory will stress flowerhorns in general , to be specific, the dominant one will be happy but other one will be under great stress.

But like someone said this not an issue if you are keeping a male and female.
