Growing out gar

Recently bought two 5" florida gar, now at around 6" in a divided section of a 265g. Any tips on growing them out? How often to feed etc? Will need to be at least 12" to go into the main tank with my silver arowana and ornate.

Feed daily until about 12 inches

Proper diet can include: quarantined or self bred feeder fish (never goldfish tho!), cut fish, thawed silversides, krill,shrimp, the ocassional cricket or grasshopper and pellets with decent protein content
