Whenever I see plants that have been uprooted, I throw them in a cup in my kitchen that gets a few hours of sunlight. The plants in the cup do very very well, way better than my tank. I just throw the plants back into the tank and usually its bigger. Currently I have some micro grass and sometimes ill find tiny shooters floating around, and ill throw it into the cup, wait a couple days and its grown big enough to plant. I think im gonna use a bigger tub and see if I can grow more plants. Anyone else do something silmilar to this?

I think that's actually a process, the cup probably ampliyfies the light the plant gets.

I'm going to try it and see what happens. I dont think a bigger tub would work though, cause you might aswell be putting it in the tank.

Howdy Marlboro,

You need better lighting for your tank ;)

Yeah I know, my budget wont allow me to get better lights yet. My plants have no problem growing under the lights I have, but yes I do need better lights, I would want at least 4-5 watts per gallon, I pushing 2 or 3. But until then....
