I got my silver the day before easter this year and he was 2.5 inches, and now he is about 6.5 I have been feeding him hikari freeze dried blood worms, is this growth rate average?

Also, I have tried feeding him tubifex worms and he wont have it, and other recommendations on what to feed him?

Try feeding something more substantial such as pellets, shrimp, fillet etc and it will grow much faster for you.

he doesnt have any aggressive tendencies. so I doubt he will eat fillet, and we dont have a market or anything with fresh in it. giant eagle and walmart are the closest things around.

i say pellets, shrimp, crickets, and super worms.

X2... Silvers can be finicky eaters. Starve him a bit and he will take to pellets eventually. I buy frozen shrimp from walmart and my aros love them.
1"-2" a month is pretty average growth for silvers.. They slow down a little after the 2 foot mark.
