It's been a while since i posted a thread. Last year all my cichla passed away. So it took me awhile to bounce back on my feet This is my first time owning baby cichlas, right now i have 5 cichla at about 1.5"-2" currently in 10g. I wanted to know how long should i toss them in the 30g wide truvu, or just go straight to the 120g. More importantly if they go in the 30g it will be in my bedroom:D, or 120g in the garage:(.

i keep growouts in smaller tanks as long as i can so i know for sure they are getting plenty of food and water changes are easier. my pbass from rich are in a 20L and will stay for quite a while...

yeah i was thinking the same. thanks for the advice guyz.

btw congrats on the contest Austin.

im keeping mine in a 30gal grow out as well, I already have the 125gal set for them but feel more comfortable leaving them in the 30gal at 2.5" and plus i have a 5" motoro in the 125gal, and don't trust him at all....lol

thanks everyone. im going to leave them in 30g until they outgrow it. I wish i could put the 120g in bedroom, i room is on the second floor.

unless you have an old house I don't think it's out of the question to have a 120 on the second floor. I used to have a 125 in my room it was on the second floor and our house is about 100 years old. I also had two 75s on top of eacother up there also. The only thing bad about a big tank on the second floor is carrying it!
