It's a white yarn-like growth with a red tip that dangles from my knife's side upper mouth. I can't seem to pull it out. Does anyone know what this is?

(The red pimple under his chin has disappeared.)

Happened to mines too, He probably just rubbed up against a rock or piece of wood or something, should heal back in no time, Don't pull it, Your just hurting the fish. Its part of its lip.

I wouldnt try pull it off. Maybe post a topic in fish deseases and health section?

Thanks for sharing, Bro. I'm just worried as he previously had this boil on his chin, which disappeared on its own about a week later. I'm just concerned.
