An island somewhere......
I currently have about 25 Endli Bichirs that I've been growing out since about .75"-1". They were on bloodworms then transitioned onto Hikari Sinking Gold and market shrimp but since they've hit about the 6" mark, they've slowed down considerably! They're also with some Del's and Senegals but none of them are really taking off in growth. Should I switch foods? I've been contemplating getting them on Hikari Sinking Carnivore/Massivore Delite but it's literally 3 times the price of the Hikari Sinking Gold! Is the Carnivore/Massivore that much higher in protein, etc. to make it worth the cost? Thanks...

honestly i dont think its that huge of a difference, but massivor will improve growth rate, enough to make it worth the price im not sure.
another thing to think about is bumping up ur temp a bit to speed up metabolism

i dont think so all my endlis have past 9" alrdy i just mainly feed them hikari sinking gold Med and mealworms, sometimes other treats

I will put the vote for the Massivore. I started using it this year and the first fish that I "grew out" with it in their diet was a Lap and Weeksii. The growth was unbelievable. I also notice additional growth in a couple of fish that I had thought stopped growing.

What is the slogan? 1 pellet has the calories of 1.8 Goldfish:)

Im not much of a Cichlid Gold fan (even tho I still have .25% of a bag left) as it makes your water extremely dirty! I will be switching to Massiv. as soon as the Gold is done. I think that has a slight effect on it as it makes your water dirty (also gives you those little bugs on the surface of your water... I think they are called yellow Springtails).

I think the one thing that was not mentioned was Current. I am big on current for growing my tankmates out. Make them exercise 24/7. I do top current so it dont push my light 3m sand around and just pushes most of the pooh to one side of the tank. That with a combination of 86* temp and a lot of aeration (air stones or what I do is put the outlet of the canister just above the water surface so it pulls air in the water but dont make the splashing noise).

I also feed Market Shrimp... every 2 days is feeding and its rotaded from Gold to Shrimp

Thats my 2cents and I feel it has worked with all my grow outs

9-10" VATF to 12" or so and its been a few months
4" Ansorgiis to 8-9" 4months or so
2" Armatus-16.5" 9 months (Rich seen when I picked him up and he also shipped him and was amazed in the short time and he was a single Armatus that didnt have to fight for food)
8" Congo to 12" maybe 4-5 months
