Green terrors can get over 12", but it takes a long time.

My GT is growing really slow.He is very lazy,He also doesn't eat that much.

Nomad...
What size tank do you have your fish in? How much current do you run? And how big and how often are you water changes?

I'm dorming, so hes in a 10g until May when I go home and he gets the 55. I run an emp 280, with 60-90% water changes every 4-7 days.

My GT at 7", I think he is currently around 8" if not a little over. I just spent the last ten minutes trying to measure him. I got a good measurement of my smallest Oscar 10.5", I am waiting to see the GT next to the Oscar to compare.

I have read that GT can grow upto 12" but I would be more comfortable with saying 10", they slow down when they get bigger.

My gt and jd are in a 125, have a pretty big current, water changes every 10 days 40 percent. Gt loves krill and earthworms thats about it.

What about JD?

i've had jacks grow considerably faster then my GT's (past and present).

alot of factors may determine the growth of "your" fish.

1. Quality of fish. (on a genetic level, but know one would know this unless you were the breeder).
2. Food. (quality, quantity, and is this filling you particular fish needs).
3. Water quality. (is the fish living if feces filled water)
4. Room to run. (or space for activity)
5. Pecking order. (meaning where a certain fish falls in line, because fish that are lower on the totem pole, seem to get harassed more. also get less food. and are stressed considerably more then others higher up, and get "picked on" by most, if not all higher ranking fish).

taking this from past and present experiences. so, use it as you will. my "experiences" might be different then many others. :D
