I have had a Leichardtii Saratoga for 5 yrs now and it is a very healthy fish but it has developed a growth on it's lower jaw.
I wanted to know if such a growth could be cut off and cauterised??
I have spoken to a vet and he thinks it could be done but I am not sure.
Is there anyone with knowledge or experience of treating fish injuries.
The lower jaw is quite bony and maybe if the growth was removed it would heal well.
The growth made of pink fleshy material is an old injury that has healed as a soft absess or growth.
What can be done??

how long has it been? does the aro had problem swallowing food? sorry for your fish dude hope some med will cure it somehow.

The growth comes and goes or I should say grows and then gets broken off and starts again only smaller.
It doesn't effect the fish at all it is only that I think it is getting worse and alittle bigger each time.

Here are some more picture of the growth.

I would do nothing. Save yourself and the Lei the hassle of removing something which does not bother it.
