been a long time since i logged in so first off hello to everyone. i have quite and interesting collection in my 75gal. tiger oscar 7", 1 green sunny 6", two bluegill 6", 1 sleeper goby6" and one pleco 6". filtered by a fx5 with a spray bar, and a hob filter as well. im feeding hikari cichlid gold. water changes are once in every two weeks. my fish have all seem to hit a lull in growth although the goby never has grown much. what can i do to help boost growth. and if they are all about 2 years old is there time left for them to grow? any ideas or comments would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Fish will grow very fast at the beginning and then their rate of growth will slow. They will grow faster with a bigger tank or more filtration. I think the random Oscar in their with the native fish is pretty fun. You can also feed a lot and do a lot of water changes or raise the tempeture. The best thing to do is take proper care of them and at what ever rate they grow at is what they grow at. They will eventually get to their potential maximum size.

They will grow just fine, they are all at the size that you would typically expect growth to slow. Just keep up with water changes and feed high quality foods. If you try to powerfeed now, you might just get fat fish. Once the initial growth slows, the fish will put more energy into bulking up, rather than length. Its just going to take time

thanks for the advice. greatly appreciated. any idea whats better feed hikari or spectrum? the mrs uses spectrum for her african cichlids and i use hikari just wondering what food was better quality. also if my goby is about 2 years old now at 6-7" how big can i expect him to get. i thought they got to be 18-24" ??

I know a few species of goby that go by sleeper, do you know the specific one, or can you post a pic? The large species of gobies are slow growers that might take a few more years to reach full grown. My marble is only 1/3 of his full potential and 2 years old

Those are good staples to feed them, but a good diet is a varied diet. Add in some frozen foods, market shrimp, earthworms etc. Eathworms are a great source of cheap protein

my goby is a marble as well, hes 7 inches long and two years old ....roughly.....is he/she behind growth schedual?

I think we went over this before with this subject i get the best growth with Marble gobys by using live feeders, live earthworms, live blackworms, live shrimp and crayfish, fresh cut tilapia, market shrimp and a lil bit of frozen food.
