Ok as you guys probably know I just picked up a Red Tiger Mota. What I want to know is how fast will it grow with optimum WCs and high protien diet? Inches per month would be most appreciated. Also whats there aggressiveness as compared to a Jag. Are they bullies or tankbangers. Never kept them before and want to know the characteristics of them. Mine seemed to back down from my Salvini even though it's mouth can fit over the Sals head lol. The Sal attempted to lip lock with the Mota but couldn't fit his mouth over the bottom lip of the Mota lol it was pretty funny seeing a fish half the body mass trying to take it down. Also my Con and FM just got to fighting and the con ripped a little flesh off the jaw of the FM will this heal? It's not serious but just wondering. Don't worry all fighting has stopped. It's just when I added the Mota the con tried to re-establish himself as a big boy now and the Sal was just trying to keep his dominance.

Sorry but I know nothing about this fish, I'd help if I could. IMO, it probably should have the same temperament as a jag, but maybe it's shy because it was just introduced. Keep an eye on the other tankmates.

I've kept the normal mota. Mine grew about 1" a month to 6", than slowed down an started putting on more girth, but still grew about .5" a month.
Aggression wise, mine were pretty shy, only really coming out to eat. I definitely wouldn't put them on a scale with jags. They don't take crap, but they don't really harass anyone either. Mine were good community fish.

Well was just watching him and he seems to be a Glassbanger because he was doing slight ramming on the glass when I came near so we will see how he does with a jag. Oh and the Mota is 6" ,very fat and 2 inches wide. When will the red begin to show on his fins. He's only got it on his face right now. He's goin in the 125 with my signatures fish for the 125.
