anyone here have experience with jack demseys and firemouths please tell me how fast they grow and if thell do good together in a 30 gallon for a growout,and what size should i move them out of the 30 gallon?

imo one firemouth would be ok in a 29 for life. a JD would need at least a 55. within about 6 months or less
I think you could keep a Dempsey for a quite a bit of time in a 30g tank. Depending on size that you start out with but when the Dempsey reaches 5 inches or so, time to move him up to the 55g!

alright thanks evreyone and by the way i do have a couple of firemouths they seem to all get along but the jd is a crazy mother f***er when i saw him at the lfs he was beating on all the other fish, but the reason i got him was because he was very dark compared to the others who where very white
If you have a big tank already, why not move the JD now? The larger tank will help him grow faster.
