growth rate for a flower ray

I have a 8" ,disc size, male FR. How fast will he grow. Any tips on feeding them a good food to get them big?

feed tons and tons of shrimp, its nearly pure protein, you'd be surprised at how much faster a ray goes on a pure shrimp diet over the winter.

my male eats anything and grows uber fast. he seems to grow fastest on hikari carnivore pellets.

Big space & Lot of shrimp ! U will surprise that flower ray can grow up to 1'' per month !

try frozen scallops they are pure clean protein.Shrimp are a sure bet and earth worms nightcrwalers from bait shops are the best.massivore pellets but they make a big mess with them

What's your take on bloodworms? The thing is I'm trying to get him to eat other stuff but he shows no interest. Then again he has only been in the tank for about 1 month.

you will have a tough time trying to get it eating prawn .

well my flowerhorn is female and is about 3inch. i feed it xo everred and xo humpy head.. only is in a 1feet tank. as its stilll small i kept it in that tank

wrong type of flower!!! oh dear

my flower RAY is 16" and was 13" when i got him 6 months ago. he is the most active and aggresive feeder in the tank he easily eats a dozen large tiger prawns in one feeding. and does that twice a day. i feed mine smelt(i think thay are silversides in the usa) large earthworms and raw tiger prawns(sometimes with massivore inside). i would love to get him onto massivore but my girlfriend complains about the smell.
