Hey i just picked up one of these beauties and was wondering on what their growth rate was? what is there max size and how long does it take for them to reach it? (i know they get big and am getting different answers when searching online so just wondering what is a realistic max size for these guys, hes only like 2in now)

There growth rate is pretty slow from my experience with Frontosa. As always the more you feed them the faster they grow. The trick is getting them to eat a lot. Max size from what I have seen and read are 15"....not sure they were the region Frontosa you have but I would image they all get similar size.

ok cool thanks i knew they got big but not oscar big this will be awesome seeing how big i can get him :), and yeah i feed my tanks 3 small feedings a day so hopefully he will grow nice and quick:headbang2

Unfortunately, they grow really slow. You have to be really patient. If possible do 3 large volume water changes a week. That will help make them grow faster.

oh ok thanks yeah i will try to give him a good variety of food to help him grow but yeah i guess i will have to have some patience lol i dont mind though as long as he grows nice and healthy, also im not sure if ill have time for the 3xweekly water changes, right i now im doing weekly 50% wc and my nitrates never go above 10 and ill be adding an additional canister filter to the tank next week, so dont really think the extra wc would help him grow that much faster since my nitrates are already low? is there any kind of specific food though that would help him to bulk up a little faster?

They grow dirt slow. I'm impatient, so I have been buying larger fish lately. I still have my 4 F1 Moba, but I like the bigger fish
