Where the gators are
Im asking this because i just picked up one of each over the past 2 weeks and there both around 3". There in a 60 now but will end up in my RTC tank. The RTC is a foot long so i dont want to put them in till there about 7 inches. How long do you think this will be?

Never had these guys before mainly just worked with the RTCs.
Are they faster growers? Like will they catch up to the RTC quickly or what?

Thanks

I would wait til they are close to the same length as the rtc. The tsn will still be very thin at 7 inches. They don't bulk up. Even at a foot, the tsn will only by 1/3 the width of a foot long rtc. With the proper feeding regimen they will be a foot in the next 5 to 6 months, maybe sooner if you push it with temp and overeating. The tsn won't catch the rtc until the rtc slows down, probably when the rtc is around 24 inches, the hybrid I don't know about. They say they grow with vigor so that might be a waiting game.

Wow thats a long time. I thought that the hybrids would grow faster than the RTC. He hit a foot in 3 months. I was hopeing to have the hybrid in there in the next 2 months and the TSN in about 4.

Like I said, I'm not sure about the hybrid but there is now way he will catch up fast. But the rtc is still growing and you have to wait for him to slow down for the others to catch up. And you have to be careful with the tsn because of how slender he will be compared to the rtc. Patience fish grower, if you feed them they will grow. :P

I currently have a 5 inch rtc and a 11 inch txn x marble. They have the same size mouth and the rtc eats probably 50% more a day.
