Hello I have a juvenile black belt and I was wondering how fast do they grow? He's currently about 2.5 inch long and housed in a 55 with a young kamfa fh or it may some kind of vieja mutt, 4 cories, and a pair of blood parrots about its size. Thank you in advance

I've owned about 12 or so black belts over the last few years. From 2.5 inches you could probably expect it to hit 6 or more within a year or so. Depending on feelings and water changing.

Thanks. I've read on here that once they reach a certain size they can become highly aggressive is this the norm? And would a 75 gallon be adequate to house an adult by itself?

The first one that I had was extremely aggressive when about 5" in a tank with two jack dempseys. The other large one I had (9"+) was in a 6ft tank with 6 other large vieja and aggression was at a minimum. The other 11 or so were all 1-2" and I grew them up to 4-5" before I sold them all.

Sorry. Forgot your last question. I'd say a 75 would be fine for a single full grown fish. However I have seen some monster BB's. the shedd aquarium in Chicago has a BB only tank with some bruisers around 14"
