Growth rate of a Indo Dat?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
as for my experience, datnoides has a slow growth progression..i think they grow a merely centimeter in a month but ofcourse to make them grow faster..you have to feed them very very well..and also put them on a large tank with more aeration!...remember that patience is a vertue..;)

Very slow, instead of starting a new thread you should've searched as there are many threads on this already

Baby ones (1-2 inch) can grow relatively quick on pellets and or a varied diet. Maybe get 7- 9inch in year 1. Then 10-12 inch by year 2.5
Then they slow down after that and put on more mass and bulk rather than length
There are of course exceptions to this guide. My friend has an 18 inch tiger which I know is no more than 6 years old.
Also if you have massive water volume and excellent filtration together with pellets that definatley makes them grow faster. T1 bought an 8-9 inch indo which I sold to a shop. He has had it in his 1000 g for 2 years now (I think). And it is 15-16 inch.

So I think tiger are slow growers in rubbish water , small water volume and poor diet.
Pellets , big volum , good quality water = much faster growth

Feed high protein foods, as often as they will eat, as was already mentioned, do water changes often because that feeding routine will also produce massive waste, but should produce greater growth potential, fish are able to convert a large volume of their food source to fish meat :)
