Growth rate of a P.Niger

I am infatuated with this catfish!!!!!!!!! And ive found a lfs with a couple of 4" specimens for 25.00 bucks and really want one ive done research and know how large the get but want to hear from people that own them. Any info appreciated. Thanks in advance

Ive got one whos about 8" he was 5" about 3-4 months ago.

they grow like 2 inches per month on average until they get to around 24 inches...then they slow down even more wen they hit 36 inches...but that all depends on ure tank size and diet. good luck

had mine about five months and mine might grow wierd he's bout 10" but he gets plump before he grows in length. he was 5" when i got him. mine grows relatively slow.

I wouldn't say that they are particulary fast growers.

Nice Diselmack is keeping a niger with his bass so they mix well.

what exactly do you guys feed your p.nigers I have had one for about a year and hes not more than 8-9 inches and he was 4 or 5 inches when I got him. Hes in a 240 with other cats and some cichlids.

mine is in a 210gal, i feed him massivore delight, algea waffers, i'm prety sure he gets some of the floating pellets (the half eaten ones). i hear him "vaccumming" the gravel every night i hear it hitting the glass .
