growth rate of a texas

pretty slow in cichlid terms...like an inch every 2 months mine has been.

dang, thats pretty slow. i never owned a texas before, just used to the fast growth of O's.

nope, you can expect an inch a month. Once they hit 6 or 7 inches it will take much longer for them to grow. Maybe an inch every 3 months. They'll be 9-10" in a year.

I have a Texas also and he's only 1.5" and The GT that I got after him is already a little chunkier and longer. They were the exact same size when I got them. The Texas just gets a little fatter at feeding but thats it...
