growth rate of sun cat

Just picked up a small sun cat about 1.5" long, wondering how fast they grow assuming frequent water changes and feeding consisting of earthworm flake, shrimp pellets, and frozen bloodworms. Thanks for the input!!

Fast until 4.5-5".. then very very slow. I had two at 2 years old and they were only 6.5". Traded them in to the LFS.

Mine surprised me... bought it at 2" and then never saw it for about 3 months...

Then, while playing around with the tank furniture, I found a 5" Sun catfish under a rock! Wonderful surprise!

It's been about 5 months since then and its now 6". Good luck.

Yes very slow. I have had mine for a year and ahalf he started at 2" and is probably 5.5" now. He is in hiding always so if you want to see him put a clear plastic tube in there so he can hide. At least I can see mine like that.

same here, i never see my sun cat but i still love it, theyre a nice looking catfish...

but ya mine grew from 2" to what it is today which is about 5.5" in about 3-4 months.
