Finally going to get one. I always wanted one. The one I am getting is about 8 to 8.5 inches. Anyone with first hand experience on its growth rate? I am excited about getting this fish.

The sticky has too much other stuff going on and I dont have the patience to skim through so many pages to find the information.
When I bought mine it was 5 inchs, a year later it is 22 inches,,any questions?

Usually about 16-18 inches within the 1st year. Maybe more depends on how well taken care of and how u feed them.
Mine grew 1-1.5'' per month depending on feeding, until he got around 14'', when he died from an intestinal parasite. Great fish, but if you can't care for them long term don't get one!
mine went from 2.5" to 12" in 6-7 months then i regulated his diet a little more (about twice a week) and he's only grown another 2" over the last 4 months so depends on how much you let him eat.
if you starve them slow if you feed them good fast...my tsns when from 3-3.5" to 20-22"+ in 5-6 months...any who don't beleve me look at "my cats" album and you will see some 3-3.5" tsns on red gravle from aug 11. an then look at my avatar that was from jan-feb, just before i sold them...the aro was 24"+ witch was only 10 months old aswell...
