Growth rate on an Ornate

I just got an Ornate Bichir last week and he's doing pretty well with my other much larger Bichirs. My Ornate btw is at just over 2" long but he's a tough little bugger. He also has external gills which I think are pretty cool.

Anyway, I was just wondering about the growth rate on Ornates. Are they as fast as Senegals?

Some say they are some say they aren't. I never really got a for sure answer.

I haven't had mine since that small, but it has grown from 8 to 11 inches in 3 months of having it

That's not bad at all, that's as fast as my Senegal grew.

ive had mine for like i dunno 6+months now? He doesnt seem likes he grown at all. Hes about 10 inches and lives in a 75. i did buy him "used" from a LFS and the previous owner may have stunted him.

My senegal grew from 2 to 6 inches in maybe 2 months. My albino sen has grown about 2 inches in the 1 month I've had it.

My Ornate has grown at least an inch per month since I got him. His growth rate has been much quicker than my two Senegals.

mine grew fast until they hit 12", it got slow

My ornate has been growing about 1" a month maybe a little less but has much more girth than any of my other bichirs, could just be the individual. He seems to be slowing down, I believe he is about 10" atm.
