I'm relatively new to dats and don't know a whole lot about them other then max size and water reqs... I might be having a friends who's vacationing in Fl for the week drive me back a pair of indos from NE Cichlids... they are about 3" and was just wondering what kind of monthly growth rate I might expect... I have been told that they are already accepting pellets...:)

I have heard that the first 6 inches are pretty quick. My thin bar grew from 4 to 8.5 inch in about a year and a half. But I heard they slow down from there. Indos may be faster since they get larger then thin bars. Also depends on what size tank they are in, water cahnges, and quantity/quality of food

I think you'll find the growth to be relatively slow compared with other fish.

It is in 3 speeds that they grow: Slow, slower and slowest..

if you have 5yrs to lose then buy 1inch tigers they should be 12inch in 5yrs :D
