I am starting to get paranoid about the growth rate of my RB's I bought them mid august, at about an inch in lenght, the store guy was not sure how old they were, they are now 4 inches now is that about right, photo attached also one of my new tank.

nice set up you got there.

RBP can grow up to 7-8" with in the first year of their age and slowly grow 1" every 3 month or so. Ofcourse its all depending on how big is your tank, how well you maintain the tank and how will you keep the well feed.

If you has plenty of room for them to swim, feed them everyday and they always eat and not a picky eater, active all the time they can grow so fast.

thats about right. when i had reds i got them at 1" like you did. kept them for just under a year and by then they where 6"-7"

Thanks for the replies and comments, they don't seem to eat that much one day they do then another they just look at the food and swim around but as long as you guys say they are OK then I am happy.
