Ok im looking into getting a silver arowana for my 60 gallon tank. Now before you tell me that it is to small im getting a 300 gallon rubbermaid conatainer for him and my rays. Im looking into getting one in the 1"-4''in range how long will it take him to get into the 8" range. Prbly feeding him pelets, krill, bloodworms, and a goldfish like once a month tanks

can't give an exact guess, but only a few months, silvers grow fast. Also you'll need some kind of a cover for the rubbermaid stock tank or you'll have a dried up silver

4-5 months roughly, and good luck finding a silver that small, atleast around here ive never seen em less than 5-6". plus they are quite fragile at such a small size so it is better to get em around 6-8".

Yes i no i need a cover already looked into that and a lfs around here can get them that size quite often and i no there hard that small but roll the dice

In Feb of 2006 I got 2 silvers @ 3-3.5". In june of that year(4 months later) one measured 6" and the other @ 7.5". I then sold the larger and in Feb 2007 the 6" had grown to 14"(8" in 8 months). Now, 9 months later the Silver is 23", so mine has kept real close to the 1" per month growth rate.

There are cases though where silvers have grown 2 inches per month.
