about how long would i be able to comfortably house 2 2"-3" ornates in a 20 gallon long tank before they started getting to big?

not very long i would say a month or so but i dont have exp with those kind of bichirs.

hmmm.....2-3 months wud probly be long enough til i could have a 60 gallon tnak ready, just for them lol. The guy at my LFS was saying how ornates only grow to the size of their tank, he's full of crap right?

yea that i know of the fishes bodys will stop growin but ther insides will still grow. which will cause them to die from ther organs expanding an collapsing. thats hear-say so dont quote me.

polys grow pretty fast if given the right conditions, you're looking at a 4-5" fish, if not more after 2-3 months.

a reg 60 gal is 48"x12" ornates can possibly get 2' so i would look 4 a wider tank more like 48"x18+" bichirs dont need tall tanks 16" tall would b fine go taller if u want u can look around and c wut diff tanks u can get n ur area and ornates grow pretty fast
