Growth rate?

Hey all.
newbie here, I was wondering how fast peacock bass grew? Thinking about getting some around the 3-5" mark. How long till the double their size? Do they slow down once they reach a certain age/length?
 
Small Pbass grow at about an inch a month. They start to slow down around the 8"-10" mark. Once they hit about 6" you don't have to feed them as often, so that will slow them down a little. But small ones are very fragile and need to eat many times a day!

Yep.

I also noticed that they tend to grow in spirts.
 
Thanks for the replies. How long do you think 2-4 of them would be good in a 75 until I get my 240 or 300 tank? I'm guessing only 2 MAX at 10''s?
 
4 AT 10" IN A 75...? I wouldn't get any...

If you get them at 3" you will be fine for about 6-8 months TOPS.

My logic is... if you don't have a big tank then don't get them. They don't show good coloring until they get big so its dumb to grow out small ones and get rid of them... its just a waste of money...

my last one grew fast as heck. i just got a baby and he is such a pickey bashtard the only thing he eats is smal danios and sometimes i can get him to eat alge discs
