Agree with all the above info.

Paroons have no consideration for what's a prey. If they can even just barely fit it in their mouth, it will be eaten. Sooner or later.

The largest paroon I am aware of in hobbyists hands would probably be TLkm's at ~3.5'. That's pretty sad if not to say pathetic that we don't have anything larger to point to in our MFK community.

Anyone knows differently, please???

There are some 5'-ers in Public Aquaria.

I think to reach 9'-10' will take 50-100 years of open river stretches and tons of luck to avoid fisherman nets, hooks, and harpoons.

We have a bunch of 3.5-4' here that are privately owned. :) But then again, the owner also owns a stingray and koi farm so it's really not fair. They are pond grown. (as in agricultural pond complete with irrigation) I'm thinking of having some of them once i finish my upgrade. Like most if not all fish, i think the slow or stunted growth is due to the lack of enough swimming space. :( extremely active preadors :D

Around 20-24 inches in a year.
In my experience, faster when they are with other paroons.
Those hooks and that vittatus is sure to be eaten. :(

Really nice fish but I'm gonna get rid of it. it started to try to eat my red hooks that is way bigger than its mouth.
