Hi, i was wondering how fast RD's, JD's, RT's, and texas cichlids grow. Like how many inches a month or how long it took for your fish to get to a certain size. Alright thank you guys/gals for the replys!!!!

I got my Midas/RD Rose Queen what ever the heck it is in June '06 at approx. 4 inches. It grew very quickly to about 8" and is now approx. 9.5".

The JD I had was about 5.5" when I got him at the end of Sept. '06 and I don't think he grew much over the 4 months I had him, maybe half an inch at most.

Burt:)

growth rate depends, on how well the fish are treated, tank size, feeding, filtration, etc, and the ones you listed, just grow slow in general, as posted above.

of the ones you listed, RD will grow the fastest...maybe up to an inch a month until it gets to around half to 2/3 of its adult size and then growth will slow down quite a bit. the others may grow 1/2-3/4" per month but probably closer to 1/2" up until around half to 2/3 of their adult size and again then their growth will slow down quite a bit. :)
