My peacock bass (monoculus) has only just started to grow at his predicted pace (he's 8cm now thought i bought him at 4cm) as i have increased the temp from a very low 55 to 74. He stayed a low size for about 3 months. Will this have decrease his size permanently? Thanks

How often does it have ich at that temp. Small cichla should have their water temp at 87 and heavily airated.

How has your peacock bass lived this long exactly?

Your fish is probably stunted due to poor water quality. Most likely the fact of how low the temperature is. I suggest you get another heater as soon as feasibly possible.

Damn dude! At first I thought you meant 55c, but that's 130 something degrees F, so that can't be right. Yeah, your fish is still way too cold. You need to get the temp. up in the mid to high eighties F. I'm surprised it's still alive. It could have permanent damage, but it could still reach a decent size if properly cared for. Raise the temp. over a period of a couple days however, not rapidly.

Amazing !!!!! goes to show some fish can adapt more then others for sure ....
