Well actually no one is to blame but me. I guess I got caught up in the thrill ride and was to busy doing this and that to notice the accumulation of detris in the tank. I also assumed that a room heater would be sufficient but did not take into account the proximity of the window to the tank having the greater influence on the tank temp. I also could have cleaned the tank a little better since it was a used tank. The sum of the whole of my neglect has taken my Bichir collection from :
