I bought about 6 bunches of plants for my 55g. It has an african brown knifefish, senegal bichir, a pleco, and african butterfly fish (all are still small). And every day, one of them has messed up my plants. Everyday more and more are floating up at the top. One of the fish has chewed the plants. I decided to put plants in there for oxygen bc I read that ABK like more of still calm waters, so I thought having an air stone or something like that would be a bad idea. Out of the fish i have mentioned, who is the one chewing up the plants? There are no snails in the tank either. I am irritated.
Any idea who? Or is everyone laughing like duh how could not know that this fish likes to tear up plants? lol. :)

I read plants and pleco, and immediately knew the culprit LOL

in my 90g grow out i did not have any plecos with my sens and ornates and i always used to find plants floating on the surface
reason: my polys used to dig around and remove those plants

LOL ok thanks. My pleco is very peaceful so far, he was getting a bit picked on in my cichlid tank so I moved him to one of the calmest nice tanks I have. Butterfly fish love all the plants on the surface....i don't though lol.
