So I was at work today, and being how my mind is never far from thinkin about keepin fish, saw some sand that I thought would look AWESOME in my tanks. Wait a second, lemme back this up really quick. For the past few weeks actually I have been trying to find a new substrate for my tankz cuz I'm just not happy with the way they look now, so when I saw this sand, it was like a blessing because its PERFECT! Free, won't mess with my pH, very fine, nonsilica, and did I mention it was freee? It just so happens that it was left over sand that the brick layers use. Its kinda reddish in color, but I love the way it looks. So I get me a bucket, fill'er up, and bring it back. Boom! Decide that its probably better for me to test it out before I put it in my other tanks just in case I don't like it. Hmmm, I thinks to myself, which tank should I do? Then it dawns on me!!! HERBERTS!!! Hahaha! SOOooo Herbert and one mosquito fish are bein the guinea pigs for my sand project! She is NOT pleased!! She is probably one of the most bratty turtles I have ever had the pleasure of keeping. I can just hear her grumbling right now in her tank....haha. Anywho, here be the pictures of the progress. It was a dramatic change, as the tank used to have BLUE GRAVEL *gasp*!!!
This is the tank JUST after I got done fillin it back up with water!! If you look in the bottom right corner you can just make out a rather grumpy turtle!
The Grumpy Highness herself....
AND just to give you an idea of just HOW grumpy she is with me...this is all I've seen from her for the past hour!! hahahaha!!
