its iffy from what i've heard green terrors aren't as bad of diggers as say parachromis but still do there fair share of digging mainly when theres a lack of ready territorys so i'd say don't spend alot of money on plants you could try it but try it in a little spot and see how it reacts
yeah I was only going to spend 5 bucks or so lol , it's just that hes in a 55g gallon and when he gets older I thought he'd have a place to hide in the grass but also have alot of room to swim around
my 6" GT is in with plants. he doesnt bother them. i have had anubias nana and java fern and they all survived him. the worst offenders are my clown loaches.
Any Cichlids that move earth (Nearly all of them) and carpet/grass plants are a pretty big no-no. Standard plants like Swords/Anubias/Java Fern will work fine minus the possibility of the occasional uproot, but hair grass will never really thrive with a Cichlid in the tank. If food scraps get down to the bottom of the tank, a GT is going to get it, and the plant will probably come with it.
Worth the try though if you're only going to chuck a five into it, let us know when it doesn't exist anymore
I got the hair grass so far he hasn't bothered them he only seems to eat off the surface of the water, I have java ferns attached to driftwood and he leaves it alone
