hey guys...

just put up a new tank with a GT and common pleco

new GT is about 4.5" and the common is about 5"

anyone ever had issues with the common sucking on the GT?

i know plecs are known to suck on discus and other flat docile fish - but do you guys think the GT will tolerate it?

i have seen the common try a couple times already, but the GT just swims off and the common lets go....

Green terror isn't acting so terrorizing just yet......

will this pair work out ok? btw....GT's rock! sooo pretty...

i am planning on feeding the following:

flake food, pellets, bloodworms, freeze dried krill and shrimp

sound good?

sounds like a cool pair to me, that gt won't tolerate the plecs sucking much longer, if the plec is constantly on the GT, the terror maybe getting ready to kick the bucket

im not sure about the GT but my red terror beats my pleco all over the tank. i had to put him in his own tank. just keep the plec well fed. you should be ok.

Not sure on the agressiveness of GTs but if you've already seen your common grazing on your GT i'd keep a watchful eye. Plecos are nocturnal, and from what i know, that's when its cichlids bed time, and is when most the damage is done. Feeding the common the correct foods can help to stop the slime coat grazing, but its never a definate bet.
