My female GT laid aprox. 250 eggs...they hatched...I saw squigglers...its been a couple weeks and I havent seen any sign of the fry.

The GTs bred about 2 months ago. so I know that the know what to do. there were fry until the aother tank mates ( tin foil barbs) ate them ( I disturbed the tank and distracted the GTs, I was attempting to remove the barbs from the tank ) ... a rookie mistake..its the first time that I have had non- mouth brooders breed.

Any idea as to the fate of the fry? Ph level, eaten...

thanks in advance for any help!

They were eaten for sure. That happened to me as well. I saw about 200 frys swimming around in my tank. A few days later all disappeared. And the GT pair were the only fish in the tank.

All the GT's I have bred end up eating there babies sooner or later. I always pull the babies I am going to raise after eggs have been fertilized.
