GT fights Tex when lights come on...

So my GT and Tex are just fine as long as the light are not on on the tank. Just light coming in from the windows in the room.

Anyway when I hit the light on the tank the GT get very aggressive but only towards the Tex. Of course I want a light on the tank but should I try something not so bright?

I don't have anything special, just a 4' light on a 4' tank.
 
Have you tried to rearrange the rocks, plants, wood, etc? I would turn the light on, rearrange everything and see what happens.

Tried that, he chases the Tex until he can do nothing but hide behind the filter return. And yeah there is all kinds of hiding places but he won't go hide. lol
 
Man thats just wierd. Ive never had a fish get turned on with the flick of a light switch. You know? What size tank? What else is in there with them?
 
you could try floating a Fancy Plants Giant or something. The tex may turn the tables when it outgrows the GT.
 
I think the lighty excites them a bit. My convict seems to be chased more by my green terror when I turn on the lights when I get home from work.

And speaking of the convict you might consider getting one to keep him off of your texas.
 
my red devil does the same thing, the only difference is he attacks the tank since he's by himself. i could never figure out why.

yeah I had a convict that was about 4". I figured he was big enough to join the more aggressive tank and somebody killed him after about a week. Tried a Salvini and he didn't make it one day. Only thing I can think of is just getting a bigger JD or something that will distract the GT but also be bigger then him.

The tank is a 120G 4'. Stocking is in my sig. And yes I hate the BP and Bala, they are old and hopfully won't be around much longer.
