hey so my 3in GT has what looks like a little tab of skin hanging out from under his left gill plate. At first i thought maybe flukes, but i don't think thats what it is. Are they maybe enflamed? It doesn't really look irritated, it just looks like his gills on his right side are just longer than the gill flap and extend further. Sorry about the pic quality, but he has little interest in staying still...

i dont see a picture.... first question everyone is going to ask though is what are your water parameters/tank size/tankmates?

Haha, whoops! Here he is. Tank parameters are all normal as of yesterday. 0.0 nitrites, nitrates, and ammonia. PH was a little high at around 7.4, but that shouldn't be a problem. No other fish in the tank are showing any similar signs. DSC_0282.JPG

tank size is a 75, occupants are three 2-3" GT(one male two females), one senegal bichir, and one snakeskin pleco. the canister fillter does some where around 260-300 GPH.

Can't really tell from that pic.

Could be a bit of a wound. Could be bacterial. Could be parasitic. Just really can't tell from that pic.

But if it's acting 100%, I'd say it's LIKELY just a little wound, and it'll be fine. Add some melafix if you're really worried.

treated with melafix for over a week, and sparactically for another 2. No change, but he is acting completely normal as far as I can tell. Maybe he is just slightly deformed and i havn't noticed before now?
