GT growth rate

semi-fast until about 5 inches or so (maybe 3/4 inch a month) then slow. if the female breeds then almost stops.
sorry don't have pics but yeah as long as you keep them from breeding and they don't have parasites (which they are prone to) their growth is OK, like previously said maybe 1/2-3/4in a month until 5in. 3/4in/mnth was the growth rate i was seeing on my male before he jumped and unfortunately my female bred with him shortly before his mishap and so hasn't hardly grown at all in the past 3 months

(if not longer)Well, I'd say mine wasn't extremely slow. I fed beefheart as one of his meals per day, in addition to pellets, prawns, etc. and I thought he did fairly well. He outgrew my Jack Dempsey.
That's the good news.....however the bad news is today I found him behind my sump, outside my 150 gallon tank. I took the glass lids off for a few hours in order to caulk them into the hinges, and I don't know what happened. He was in there with a Firemouth and a few Plecos. There is nowhere to hid in this tank so I knew immediately he got out.
