GT have trouble with peas.

My little gt is having trouble eating peas. He takes one then it takes him like 30-45 min. To swallow it. It looks like he isnt having fun after he eats one. What can i do? Should i try little pieces of zucchini instead?

Do you shell the peas? I always shell peas before giving them to any of my fish.

What do you mean? As in take the little shell off of the actual peas that came out of the pod?

Yes. The pea(seed) that comes out of the protective pod, has another membrane that is mostly fiber. I make a small tear in this outer membrane, then squeeze the insides out of the pea and into the tank.

I agree, the shell can be hard to get down and digest.

funny my gt just ate a couple just seconds ago and loved em ... boiled shelled and halved ...

I don't boil mine. I buy them frozen, run them under cool water until I can break the shell, and pop them out into the tank.

I toss some in the microwave and de shell them.
