So until recently i had a pair of GTs in a 75. The only tankmate is a 7" L37 pleco that they don't really mess with. The male is 5+" and the female is just barely 3". They've spawned about 5 times so far. They had a spawn until they seemed to just dissappear overnight about 10 days ago. Around 4 days ago I turned on a new canister filter on the tank (upgrading from 265gph to 370gph).
At about this time i noticed the male constantly harrassing the female. Up until this point the female usually bullied the male depite the size differnece. But because he's so much bigger i had to take her outso she didn't get torn up worse. I was thinking that introducing the new filter would have messed up established territories and thus caused the aggression. But i also began having trouble getting both fish to eat a few days ago. They will each get the food, chew it up, and spit it out. I'm worried about the possibility of parasites(look at his white poop in the pic above) but have no idea where they would have gotten them. The only live food they've ever had is ghost shrimp every 2 weeks or so. Besides that they eat sinking hikari cichlid gold, with treats of spirulina brine shrimp, blood worms, and beefheart(very rarely)

Internal Parasite, they don't look bloated, they don't have ich, or it can be the blood worms you have fed him. It does not look like a bacterial infection.
Do a 25-50% water change tonight. You need to start feeding them veggies! or buy algae wafers. If they do not eat their veggies bacteria from the meaty foods can pack up and the fish can get constipated. Let me know what happens tomorrow or his week.

well there are a bunch of random babies from this and other breeds of their's swimming around the tank that i missed when i removed their siblings. It actually kinda cool that he hasn't eaten these yet and seems to be allowing them to be in his tank at least for a while.

i fed shelled peas to both tonight, but neither seemed too interested (though now that i go back to look, there are no peas on the bottom of either tank)

Lower your temperature to 75 degrees. Use a thermometer to measure. Do a small water change, about 20% weekly. Feed sparingly only what they will eat, and be sure not to over feed. The fish should bounce back. It takes time, up to a month. If the fish is not eating, let it fast a day or so and try again. Forcing the issue with trying to get it to eat will cause a great deal of stress on the fish. At this point anything that can cause stress will hurt the fish.

I wouldn't feed them a whole pea. Take off the shell, feed them the soft part. It is much easier for them to chew. If they do not eat peas, go to your LFS, petco, or petsmart and buy frozen "Emerald Tree" fish food. It has a lot of veggies and meats in it.

I've been having a little better luck with flakes, but i will decrease their feedings. And sorry, thats what i meant by peas. I'm also gonna be getting some spirulina pellets soon which should help.

As far as water changes go, should i be doing large ones on a daily basis or just the regular regime of 25% twice a week?

I agree with everybody above. Less meat and more veggies will do them good. On top of that, those algae wafers will help to enrich the orange in their fins. Also, I've used a little epsom salt in my tanks before to help clean a fish out. It might be an idea but, I would just give it a little time before trying this.
