I have a GT that has an internal parasite, Guppy told me to get metronidazole I found a Jungle brand parasite clear that has metronidazole in it, but I can't find the food. I also cant find pure metronidazole to make the food from the article. Is the food with the metronidazole in it necessary, or will I be ok with just putting it in the water.

BIG AL's ONLINE often has METRONIDAZOLE and AQUAZOLE.. Both of which I treat all of my wild fish with for parasites.. They work great.

First off, never doubt Guppy. Also, the clear stuff is mucus. You don't normally see it because is has digested food in it. It sounds like your fish is starving.

You can doubt me if you want, I have been known to be wrong. If I am I try to correct myself though when I get better info. Heheh.
I returned your pm Tothna but I will repeat it here for others, I think it is best to do both types of treatment because while just treating the water will clear it up there is a strong chance that the fish will still have a low level residual infection that will come back in the future. This place sell several types including one that also contains praziquantel so it would clear out any worms as well. They mainly deal in discus products but it works for other cichlids and fish as well. http://rockymountaindiscus.com/Food_and_medications.htm
