I got my GT 6 days ago...I put him in a 30 gallon for 2 days then cleared up the 90 for him and a few other small cichlids to grow inn... But he has not ate since I got him he refuses everything I have tried krill, bloodworms, hikari gold, NLS thera +A..... He barely comes out now all he does is hide in a cave.... I know fish can go a lpong time without eating but his stomach is starting to look sunk inn and his head looks too big for his tiny body.... What else should I try feeding? How much longer can he go without eating? The last pic was taken on the day I got him...

hang in there. im sure hes just stressed from moving from different tanks in a short period of time. if he is hiding in one spot you can make a feeding tube to get the food down there. a small piece of pvc pipe works good. just make it long enought to get down to where he is at and put some sinking food down the pipe so he can get to it before the other fish. thats my 2 cents bro. GL

I make sure the food falls into his cave but he just ignores it...

sounds like hes just stressed out a little. how many other fish are in the tank with him and what are the size comparisons between the GT and the largest fish? you can try and add some dithers/target fish if there is other aggressive fish in the tank. he might feel threatened. give it another day or so and hopefully he comes around. if not maybe he just suicidle. lol GL bro

There is a 3.5" argentea that is smaller then him and a bunch of .75" midas fry thats it he's the biggest fish in there...

He might be just stressed.

I had my GT in my larger tank with Jags and Oscars and the GT would never eat anything. He would get food then just spit it out. I thought it might be a parasite or something as he was getting so skinny i was sure he would die.

I moved the GT to a tank on it's own and it ate almost immediatly. So yeh might be just stressed. Hang in there for a while and maybe try just frozen food like blood worms or shrimp just to get him eating.

Goodluck!

I just did a 50% water change and moved all of its tankmates out except the midas fry...

Unless he is sick he will not let himself starve to death. I think he is still trying to settle down.
