So I got this GT from the LFS about 2 weeks ago that was being beaten up but his tank mates, I felt sorry for him!

After putting him in with some similar sized cichlids I noticed almost straight away that he had some clear poo coming out of him.

I removed him to a quarantine tank and added metronidazole, salt and upped the temp to 30c, after a 14 days of treatment and daily water change he is still exactly the same as he was, not eating and still having this clear/translucent poo coming out of him, must be at least 4ft of it in the last 2 weeks!!! He is now so thin but still active and moving but he just doesn't seem to be getting better, he really is a gorgeous looking fish but I am now seriously worried he will die, is there any way to save him?

I'd tried to get pics of the clear poo but my camera broke and my camera phone is crap.

Please help a GT in need :)

sounds like parasites, i think prazipro by hikari should help , if im not mistaken its what my husband uses. or if u can find flake medication that would be good too.

He's not eating though, tried everything, he did mouth some bloodworms but they came straight back out.

Man that sucks, I hope your other fish dont get the parasite

It's been two weeks since he was in the main tank for only a few hours and none of the other fish appeared to have gotten this parasite, I'll give the prozipro a go if I can find it in the UK.

Well surprise surprise it's banned in the UK!

I have found an alternative that all the discus owners seem to rave about so I just ordered some.
