I just grabbed some pics of my GT that I have had for about 2 years. Its about 7"s and has slowed down growing.

Any ideas if its a female/male

thanks

Don't mind his big injury right now its healing.

im leaning toward male but its hard to tell with this angle. A side shot would be better.

Im going on color which looks pretty bright where females tend to be a bit darker. The dorsal and anal fins seems pointed, but its hard to see in the pic.

female for me

Heres are some older pictures when it was much smaller

I'll have to try and get some new pictures tonight because it still seems up in the air.

I always am not sure what it is. Has the great fins and color of a male, especially when dark colored while eating and such. However the size and head shape I lean towards a female.

Also, the lower gill colorations I have read can tell sex sometimes?

I'll try to get a really good side profile shot tonight.

The side shots are soo soo hard to do because usually whenever I come close to the tank the GT will go nuts swiming up and down against the glass in a biting fashion.

I wish he would man up then and grow a hump!
