GT spawn and male JD

I just had my first spawn from this GT pair, love them, they seem like great parents until now. The male is approximately 4" and the female 2 1/2". Also , that's my male JD, he's just a bit bigger than the male GT

Man, they're so little. And I don't think it's uncommon for rivs to spawn when they're that small.
Crazy how their South American cousins, the oscars, have to be cows before they can spawn. And fronts take like two years.

yeah I was pretty surprised to see that little pile of eggs one morning ! was pretty happy

Well think about the growth rates on the fish. - 4" GT will be a lot older and more mature than a 4" Oscar.
