GT tank. needs help

never had a green terror and was looking for possibly tank mates thinking about maybe one other fish and then some house fish like loachs or plecos. would love some advice and also FILTERS: only have had the over the back kind of filters what are the nice canester filters out there.

tankmates depends on the terror involved and tank size. some are psychopaths and others get bullied by blowhards like FM's. I have personally kept oscar, parachromis loisellei, con, FM, uaru A., clown loaches, bristlenose plec, gold severums and rainbow fish with my GT. he was generally good natured but hated the FM for some reason but everything else was fine. the uaru went in when they were 1" and he was 6" and tank boss.
canisters that get a good name are rena xp3, fluval fx5 and eheim classics. all of these are dependant of who you ask. everyone has a favourite brand they endorse.
