Hello everyone,

I have a GT that is approximately 6-7 inches long. Everything about him appears normal, except about five days ago I noticed he became anorexic and yesterday I saw his feces is white. Upon researching I've found that it's an indication of internal parasites.

He is currently in a quarantine tank and has had one treatment of Parasite Guard by Tetra as of yesterday and I plan to repeat the treatment again tomorrow (48 hours apart). I have also purchased Epsom Salt aid in treatment.

Is it was safe to combine the two treatments? Is there anything that you would recommend?

I really don't want to lose him! Thank you in advanced.

Keep doing what you're doing. Just follow the instrustion on the meds and do what it says. Have you changed it's diet recently?

I've dosed him twice with Tetra ParasiteGuard as directed and placed Epsum Salt in his tank twice. In between doses I did approximately a thirty percent water change.

Here are a few images of his feces from this morning. Is there anything else I can do to prevent him from dying?

It could be bacterial and not IPs. Is the fish eating?

Patience. I hope he's still eating. Mine didn't eat for two months. Yes, two months. She's eating well now, but still hasn't regained her color. BTW, I used the same treatment that you're using

Try one more course of treatment before trying anything else.

I treated him again on Friday but nothing has changed. His feces is still white (at times almost transparent) and he still has no interest in food. His stomach is also sinking in now.

When this happened with mine, I used Jungle Parasite Clear. It worked for my GT and my FH. Good luck with yours. Both mine went for about a month before they ate.
