This is my other GT which I gave to my sister due to him getting his butt kicked daily by my larger GT. He healed up nicely and is now showing great coloring. I noticed his pectoral fins are as bright an orange as his caudal fin which I've never seen on a GT before. what do you guys think? here are pics from when he was pulled out of my tank and also pics now.

Yeh thats different :) mine i have owned have always been yellow or white.

I just looked at my tank cause I was wondering this about my own GT's, looks like one of them has bright orange pectoral fins as well.

Just a plain male gold saum.... he is showing good color cause either he is happy in the tank he is (obvisoly that can be a very good reason, he is not getting picked on no more), or is getting a very good diet consisting of shrimp and etc... and good water quality. I had this happen to me with a green terror. Came to me with no color not even green, poor thing was in a 10 gallon getting beaten by a dovii. I had him in perfect water with dithers and he got perfect. I'll post a pic of him for... still have him he's a live and kicking... pic of him below.

The only way to know for sure if hes a royal GT is if you bought him from a reputable lfs. And if that's the case, he could very well be a majestic, imperial, or emperor GT. tough to say. you should see my rosy red terrors :grinno: I'm just pulling your leg.
