Hows big the tank. I think you meant 90 when you said 9, IDK though. Y are you separating, trying to block the Bass from getting to the fry. The parents can fully handle any other tank mates really. GT's are aggressive. Why do you want to separate?:)

once they hatch they get moved by the mama gt into some lace rock in the tank but then they get eaten its a 90 but i want to seperate em for at least a week and move the fry into a 20

Considering it's just her and her little fry, I would say no more than 20 gallons tops of the 90.I mean if she's lets say 6 inches long than 8-9 in.of the tank would be plenty, especially is she won't be there for no longer than a week or two. All she will be doing is watching her fry really won't need that much space. Wouldn't want to close too much off either for the male and the bass they might start fighting with cramped space.:)

ok im revisiting this post because the eggs are laid back to separating them will probably set the female with about 9 inches of the tank to just her and the fry does that sound good?

How big is the female GT, if it's 5 inches or under, 9 inches would be nice. If she's bigger might want to expand the space a little.
